XII International Festival of contemporary experimental and ethno-avant-garde art NOUMEN ART'2024

SUMMARY

Noumenart (from Greek νοούμενον - essence comprehended by the mind) - the art of creating new meanings, the play of thought through artistic expression and the disclosure of the mind through the medium of art. The no-menographer is neither an artist nor a philosopher; Rather, they use philosophical methods to capture new meanings and employ artistic techniques to give them tangible form. By evoking emotion, they discover new eidos (forms or ideas), offering themselves and others the pleasure of experiencing previously unknown meanings on an emotional level.

The NOUMEN ART Creative Lab hosts annual public sessions and festivals that include a variety of cultural events celebrating the work of talented and innovative contemporary artists in a variety of disciplines. These include music, visual arts, performing arts, screen arts, and a synthesis of art, literature and poetry that draws inspiration from regional and ethnic artistic traditions. The NOUMEN ART Festival, formerly known as the Festival of Contemporary Intellectual Art, has been held since 2005. The last stage, the XI International Noumen ART Festival, was held in August 2022 in Osttirol, Austria, albeit with a shortened program.

Videotravel Club LLC, as part of the Noumen ART Fest, hosts international non-profit events in Tbilisi, Georgia, such as:

  • Solo exhibition of Almagul Menlibayeva (September 2023)
  • Joint show with Spanish guitarist Angel Ontalva and Georgian percussionist Irakli Sanadiradze (December 2023)
  • Exhibition-performance "Parajanov: The Power of Intention / 100th Anniversary" (January 2024)
  • Multimedia performance "Giger meets Parajanov: Horrors of Entropy / for the second year of the war in Ukraine" (February 2024)

BREAF

The summer and fall of 2024 will be truly exceptional. This time the magnificent soundscapes of Georgia's mountain ranges will echo with enchanting trumpet, transcendent guitar riffs and piano shimmers. As if from nowhere, the breath of distant Central Asian steppes will penetrate into the rock labyrinths accompanied by bright installations of daring Kazakhstani actionists led by the brilliant Almagul Menlibayeva. The air will be filled with a symphony of creativity and cultural fusion, blending the ancient melodies of the East with the contemporary rhythms of the West. It will be a time of artistic exploration and boundary-pushing, where the boundaries between art, nature, and tradition blur into a tapestry of vibrant expression. The landscapes will become stages, and the sounds will be the performers, weaving a narrative that transcends time and space.

The peculiar voices of the Amazonian forests will transport festival attendees on a phantasmagoric journey to otherworldly realms. However, at some point, they will be captivated by the unhurried mimodramatic mysteries of Japanese butoh, causing them to pause in anticipation. For those with nerves of steel, a glimpse into the darkest predictions regarding humanity's future will await, hidden within the prehistoric grottoes.

Moreover, the festival promises numerous other extraordinary accomplishments that will delight and enthral the mind and imagination.

Upcoming events of the festival Noumen Art' 2024:
