SUMMARY
Nuomenart (from the Greek "νοούμενον" - the essence comprehended by the mind) is the art of creating new meanings, the play of thought through artistic expression, and the revelation of the intelligible through the medium of art. The noumenograf is neither an artist nor a philosopher; rather, they utilize philosophical methods to grasp novel meanings and employ artistic techniques to give them tangible form. By evoking emotions, they unlock new eidos (forms or ideas), offering themselves and others the pleasure of experiencing previously unknown meanings on an emotional level. The NOUMEN ART Creative Lab hosts public sessions and festivals annually, featuring a diverse range of cultural events that highlight the works of talented and innovative contemporary artists in various disciplines. These include music, visual arts, performing arts, screen arts, the synthesis of arts, literature, and poetry, drawing inspiration from regional and ethnic artistic traditions. The NOUMEN ART festival, previously known as the festival of contemporary intellectual art, has been held since 2005. The most recent iteration, the XI international festival Noumen ART, took place in August 2022 in Osttirol, Austria, albeit with a condensed program.
BRIEF
The autumn season of 2023 will be truly exceptional. This time, the magnificent soundscapes of the mountain ranges will reverberate with the enchanting trumpet of Nils Petter Molvaer, the transcendental guitar riffs of Eivind Aarset and piano virtuoso David Helbock. These remarkable artists are true devotees of the ECM-Style, and their performances will be the most beautiful sound next to silence...
Emerging from the mysterious caves of Cluj-Napoca, the rebellious verses of Nietzsche's Zarathustra will resonate, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the legendary hits of Led Zeppelin. Alongside them, the mesmerizing jazz improvisations crafted by musicians hailing from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Georgia, Russia, and Argentina will organically blend with the Mediterranean Sea's gentle whispers.
As if from nowhere, the breath of the distant Central Asian steppes will infiltrate the rock labyrinths, accompanied by the striking installations of the audacious Kazakh actionists led by the brilliant Almagul Menlibayeva.
The peculiar voices of the Amazonian forests will transport festival attendees on a phantasmagoric journey to otherworldly realms. However, at some point, they will be captivated by the unhurried mimodramatic mysteries of Japanese butoh, causing them to pause in anticipation. For those with nerves of steel, a glimpse into the darkest predictions regarding humanity's future will await, hidden within the prehistoric grottoes of Cluj-Napoca.
Moreover, the festival promises numerous other extraordinary accomplishments that will delight and enthral the mind and imagination.
Welcome to our realm of artistic mind games!
GREEN TREES PLANET
An integral part of the Festival NOUMEN ART - Cluj-Napoca'2024 will be the "green theme", which we are implementing in partnership with the project GREENTREESPLANET.COM, acting under the auspices of the international environmental movement ECOLOGI.COM
By combining attending the festival with the planting of green spaces, we aim to address local environmental issues, achieving the twofold goal of promoting environmental sustainability and supporting artistic creation inspired by the beauty and harmony of nature, and we hope that our example can be followed by other cultural events in Europe and the world
As part of our NOUMEN ART festival, each visitor will be invited to plant their own fruit trees on the ranch and decorate them with name tags. The ranchers will carefully care for each cuttings planted and in six months will report back to the person who planted them on how they are growing by providing a video report. Over the years, the cuttings will grow into branching trees bearing life-giving fruit, experimentation in the arts will become mainstream and classic, lavishing the world with the fruits of culture
